Original LP liner notes:

The title song for this album is a Ray Conniff original written a few years back when Ray and Billy Butterfield were instrumentalists in the Artie Shaw band. The album is a lively exercise in nostalgia for those days when after a dance date Ray and Billy would kid around on their horns for the sheer joy of it.
During a recent get-together, Billy asked Ray, "Why don't you get your trombone out of the closet and see if we can still swing like we used to?"
This Ray did, and the album proves that the best approach to improvising on the wonderful melodies of our time is by having two great instrumentalists like Ray Conniff and Billy Butterfield JUST KIDDIN' AROUND!
